We are Simona and Dan Vasvari, married for 19 years. We met in high school back in Romania. We are originally from a beautiful mountain city called Brasov. I have a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Transylvania University in Brasov, Romania and Dan graduated the same University with a Major in Electrical Engineering. I have been in the Financial Services industry for the last 9 years, currently a Personal Banker at a local branch and Dan has been for 7 years with a multinational company located in Norcross as a Field Service Engineer.
We moved to United States 16 years ago and completed our family here in Snellville where we’ve lived for 13 years with two daughters Julia that is now 10 years old and Alexandra of 7 years old. They both attend Craig Elementary School. Julia is passionate about coding, is funny how “she knows” since she was 6 years old that she wants to be a Software Engineer. She takes ballet classes, enjoys gymnastics and she plays the piano. In fact, this past year she took piano lessons from one of our dearest neighbors. Alexandra enjoys gymnastics too but she is completely in love with ballet, she attends since she was 3 years old an amazing local school of ballet. A few years ago she started to perform in their wonderful seasonal productions including the Nutcracker.
Our family loves to travel, roller-skating and skiing, every chance we get we run to North Carolina for ski trips. We look forward to this end of the year when we will take an one week trip to West Virginia to ski.
We travel to see our parents and cousins to Romania every other summer. Last year, on our way back, we stopped in Italy for few days and had a chance to visit also the city of love Venice for our 18 years wedding anniversary. We made some beautiful memories there, the girls still talk about it.
We moved to Kensington a little over 4 years ago and we simply love it here. The community welcomed us with big warm open arms. The next day we moved, we’ve gathered with all our next door neighbors in the driveway and got to meet them and talked about ourselves and they told us about their family and it immediately felt like home. There is not one holiday that is not celebrated in our community, either with a more amazing year by year fireworks show on 4th of July or roads that are candlelit on Christmas Eve. Many of them start or end with a gathering at our Club House and activities for children, and we barely miss any. It already became a tradition and our daughters look forward to celebrate each holiday with the neighbors.
It is here in the Brookwood Community where we found everything we need and we love. Our home, amazing teachers and instructors for our children, the activities that keep them involved in doing what they love. We can only be so thankful that we live in such a warm hearted and involved community and we look forward to the years to come.
