Our story began 29 years ago and over 800 miles away. Sean and I are from Pennsylvania and we are high school sweethearts. We met at our church youth group. After high school, Sean attended Drexel University and graduated with a mechanical engineering degree. He was offered a job with Motorola here in Georgia. So, in July of 1997, we were married and two weeks later, we arrived in Georgia, beginning the next chapter of our lives together. I finished up my college career at the University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in social work. After working a few years as a foster care case manager for DFCS, Sean and I decided to start a family.
We had our first child, Noah, in November of 2001. Four years later, Micah was born. The Lord continued to bless our family. Chloe was born in 2008 and Bethany, in 2012. All four of our children attended elementary school at Calvary Chapel Christian School, where I currently work teaching 4th and 5th graders. Our youngest has just finished her 1st grade year there. Chloe and Micah have been at Crews Middle School. They just completed their 6th and 8th grade years. Our oldest son, Noah, just graduated from Brookwood High School. It has definitely been a different kind of senior year for him. But we have been amazed at how well he has handled his current situation and risen to the challenge. He has remained focused and diligent, finishing out his high school career with honors. Not only has he excelled at school, but he has also been using this time out of the classroom to invest in the lives of his siblings and also the middle school group at our church where he has been a middle school counselor for the past four years. He is planning on attending Georgia Southern in the fall and we cannot be prouder of him.
Our family and our faith in God are the two most important things in our lives. From the time our children were little to now, Sean and I have been very involved in their lives. Sean has been coaching soccer at Bethesda park for the past eight years. We love our soccer family! I am also very involved in the school and I serve on the band board at both Crews Middle School and Brookwood High School. I have enjoyed leading fund-raising events like the Crews Band Rock-a-thon and the Brookwood Band’s Taste of Brookwood event. Noah has been a part of the Brookwood Marching Band since his freshman year and I have enjoyed chaperoning games, band competitions and band camp. The Brookwood Band family is amazing!
Our church family is also very important to us, especially since our immediate family lives so far away. We have been attending Calvary Chapel Stone Mountain since we moved to Georgia. Sean and I are involved in the Middle School youth group. We also host a small group Bible study in our home. Through it, we have been able to connect with couples of our church who are in a similar stage of life.
We live in the Waterford Township subdivision. We moved here from the Flowers Crossing subdivision about a year ago and we have loved our new neighborhood.
