Hello sweet neighbors! We are the Quiñones family or the “Q’s” for short! We are a family of six, including our two fur babies. We are proud parents of our animal-loving kindhearted daughter Sophie, and our artistic, and adventurous boy Liam. Our black rescue kitty Murdy is 11, and our newly adopted Puerto Rican Sato pup Charlie is turning seven months this June. My husband Richard who is truly a kid at heart will be turning 40 this month, and I will be turning 37 the following month.

Richard and I are what some folks refer to as “transplants”. Richard is originally from Brooklyn, NY, and I am from Inglewood, CA. We met in 2009 at Diesel bar and restaurant where a group of mutual friends gathered to celebrate the victory of my beloved kickball team that I used to play in called the “Dirty South Crunkball Allstars”. Pretty quickly into the night, we both learned that we had a TON in common (music, animals, MMA, traveling, and both our families lived out of state). The connection was made! Three days later we had our first date, and the rest is still our history in the making.

During our courtship, Richard and I shared an apartment in the Buckhead/Midtown area right off Peachtree Rd, which was only a few miles away from the now-closed pirate ship landmark where after a year of dating Richard proposed to me at Dante’s Down the Hatch. A month after our engagement, I accepted an exciting new venture with Warner Music Group. Within two weeks we went on a journey across the country and settled into our new apartment in Hollywood, CA. Eight months after moving back to my birth city we got married surrounded by close friends and my family in Los Angeles. By the fall of 2012 we had our first precious little bundle of joy. Holding baby Sophie in our arms awakened an incredible nurturing instinct. Having our first child was ultimately the reason Richard and I decided to move back to Georgia where we wanted to raise our family.

By early 2013 we found a beautiful home we rented in Lilburn, GA. Richard’s entrepreneurial heart and business management skills kicked into full gear as he continued to develop and grow his technology company SB Comm, Inc which specializes in Home Automation, Home Theaters, and Security for residential and commercial businesses in the South East. Within a couple of months SB Comm, Inc opened its first office in Norcross GA, and the business became a member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, partnering with over 30 builders in the state of GA.

By 2015 we welcomed our handsome baby boy Liam. With our growing family and business we set a goal to relocate within two years, once Liam was ready to join Sophie in preschool. By 2017 we purchased our first home in Snellville. Both our little ones attended Cannon Church Preschool where the magnificent teaching staff at the United Methodist Church encouraged Sophie and Liam to develop their passion for learning and inspired them to be creative.

Sophie is an animal-loving, sassy dancer and social butterfly! Her favorite animal has recently changed from cheetah to hedgehogs. She wants to be the first female president, a gemologist, and a veterinarian. Sophie’s favorite hobbies are dancing to Michael Jackson and kids bop, collecting rocks, and playing softball with her friends in her peewee league.  Sophie has an adventurous spirit and wishes to one day visit Paris and climb the Eiffel Tower. No doubt this bright girl will go far!

Liam is well on his way to becoming a modern Picasso. His Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Wright has mentioned she plans to hold on to his artwork for when he becomes a famous artist so she will have a piece of his earlier masterpieces. Besides painting, drawing, and sketching, Liam loves science! We spend a lot of time making soapy volcano eruptions. When we aren’t making exploding experiments, Liam enjoys playing tee ball with his team the Brewers. He also loves building forts with couch cushions. Liam wants to be a shark when he grows up, so we will see how that one turns out.

Aside from being the founder and President of SB Comm, Inc., Richard also taught martial arts as a Sensei in the Tao Hsieh Wu Shu martial arts style also known as Warriors for Christ which had one of my favorite mottos – “Families who kick together, stick together”. The school relocated to North Carolina, and the local Norcross location dissolved around 2015, but Richard has kept up with his passion for working out and staying physically active. He also taught the Korean martial arts style Tae Kwon Do where both Liam and Sophie participated as students prior to the pandemic at Cornerstone Martial Arts here in Snellville. He is now fiercely training to achieve his health and fitness goals at CrossFit Iconz.  Besides work and exercising, Richard enjoys riding his motorcycle around town.

After leaving a 12-year run working in the music industry I joined the SB Comm, Inc. team as a part-time employee in 2017, just as the office was relocating to Snellville. My new career has developed from part-time Project Coordinator to my current role as the company’s Director of Operations for our Snellville experience center. I am beyond blessed to work with my husband and the rest of the SB Comm team who have truly become our family. Being a full-time mom while also working full-time makes having “free time” challenging, but when I do get free time, I enjoy painting, woodworking, sports (watching them, or playing them), and exercising. I am also a HUGE foodie, I love cooking, mixology, and whipping up new recipes!

Our neighborhood, Dogwood Plantation, has been nothing but amazing this past year. We moved here after selling our first home in Snellville last Spring! Our realtor helped us nonstop for three nerve-wracking days while we searched for the perfect home in the Brookwood cluster. On the third day, we found this gorgeous brick-front home, in a quiet neighborhood. Our offer to purchase the house was accepted within 24 hours! We were ecstatic! We all loved the giant yard, the proximity to the fishing lake, and the playground for the kids, as well as the established look and feel of the neighborhood. We have seen playful foxes, deer, hawks, and owls in our backyard. We have made great friendships with our sweet neighbors, and our kids enjoy fun playdates. From the moment we walked this house in the spring of 2020 we truly felt in our hearts this was the ideal place for the next few chapters of our family’s life. We look forward to spending many years to come in this fantastic neighborhood.
